Rugby World Cup at the Otago Farmers Market
With large crowds expected for the Rugby World Cup at the Otago Farmers Market Trust is concerned that current market site may not be large enough to accommodate all of the extra visitors to town. With this in mind we will be extending the market into ANZAC Avenue on the Saturdays that Dunedin is hosting the games.
The first game is to be held on the 10th of September when England Play Argentina. While most of your favourite vendors will be in their usual places, the majority of vendors selling food to eat at the market will be placed out on ANZAC Ave. If you are unsure of where a vendor is their will be plenty of staff on hand to help you out.
As well as moving vendors out onto ANZAC Avenue we will also be placing some of our plant vendors in new locations around the market.
We will only be closing part of ANZAC Avenue which will mean that you will be able to use the Cadbury’s Car Park and the Park at the Northern end of the market. The large car park, behind the Station Apartments will also be available click here to see a map of parking locations around the market
Pablo from Evansdale Cheese who was born in Argentina is confident that they will win the game, while resident Englishman Steve Turner has other ideas. While the result of the match is unknown we are confident that with extra space and setting, visitors will be able to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the market while regular customers should have no problems getting their weekly shopping done.
