Otago Farmers Market Trust Community Stall
The Otago Farmers Market Trust is committed to the local community and every week it makes one FREE space available at the Saturday market for a Community Group. This gives a wide variety of organisations the opportunity to talk with market customers. The stall can be used to hand out information, fundraise, or to do both. Since the market was first established in 2003 hundreds of community groups have benefited from the Otago Farmers Markets Community Stalls.
Community Groups need to be on site at 7:15am in the morning and are required to stay until the market closes at 12:30pm. We also ask that Community Groups operate from behind their stall, and, so as not to interfere with customer traffic flow, they not move around the market, for instance with hand-outs.
The site is available for any local Otago Community Group, from sport teams to health support. While there is no fee for the site, the Group will need to provide their own tables, chairs and any shelter that may be required. The stall is only available to individual groups once a year.

“I commend your organisation for having a stall space available for community organisations to use. It is a valuable service to our community. Also, congratulations on the success you have achieved with the farmers’ market. It certainly is a thriving community and an asset to this city”
