In 2007 on the same day as Duck shooting opening – Waitaki Bacon and Ham began at the farmers market Dunedin . A small boutique farm family business incorporating all family members and friends( at various times of the year) has enabled a taste of Waitaki to be discovered NZ wide . Our products can’t be duplicated or found anywhere else. Our signature Hampshire Ham, a unique Bacon range, gourmet salami, naked pork & a euro deli selection now reflects the backbone of selection gluten free. We are proudly the inaugural NZ Fine Food Award winners of the Hospitality Food & Beverage Section 2010 - attributed to our signature Rustic Pure Pork Sausage- something you just can’t get enough of.
Our farm borders the Waitaki River in North Otago – 15 minutes from the 45th Parrallel – and every aspect of the value chain we have given high priority to from the grain grower, the trucking company we work alongside , the nutritionist (that is as good as master chef )– plus our staff – both on farm and those that help design the products – They all go into the melting pot to bring the end result we strive for – taste, texture and tenderness – an eating experience like no other.
