I hail from a farming background in the Ida valley, central Otago. After completing a BSc at Canterbury university, I spent a few years traveling the world shearing sheep before returning home to embark on a rural banking career.
I am currently Regional Manager, Lower South Island for ASB Rural Banking. I also hold a couple of independent directorships, one a large scale dairy farming company, the other a sheep station. I act as chairman for both of these companies.
I have lived in Dunedin for the past 12 years and have been a passionate supporter of the Otago Farmers Market. Knowing where my food comes from is very important to me. I love the relationships I have developed with a number of the vendors at the market and I am very aware of the importance the market has as an attraction in Dunedin.
