This Week at the Farmers Market

13th November 2021

Hi there

Blinkin heck it’s only 7 markets till Christmas day!  Our Christmas market will be on FRIDAY 24th December this year (NOT on Saturday) & the following market is FRIDAY 31st Dec.  Time to get your ham orders in fast if you are ordering Christmas ham (Blue Mountain Butcher & Havoc Farm Pork) - so you can guarantee 100% NZ local pork.

I’m looking forward to restocking up my fridge & pantry from the Market this weekend after a little staycation annual leave catching up at home & garden (it wasn’t my planned Raro, but as close as with all the warm days & nights out at the beach).  Thanks to Kristina our assistant manager for holding the fort here so well so I could have some time off.

Remember too that only all our Market authenticated, verified Otago Farmers Market vendors are all within our gates, make sure you support them inside the Market carpark & platform.

The same protocols are in place this week, mask wearing (unless you have an exemption or for children), scanning in & keeping the 2mt distancing.  Please use the MAIN MIDDLE GATE on Anzac Ave & depart from there as well (all other gates are blocked off).  If you are parking in the north carpark, please walk around to the main front gate, this is so we can track numbers.  There should be an easy flow in again this week.

We ask if you could please take coffee & food off site to eat from our many ready to eat vendors that way we can keep it swiftly happening for everyone into the Market to shop & leave.

We look forward to seeing you all this weekend!  Bring your cash, bags, keep cup or mug, containers, mask & charged phone for scanning.

Shop your way around Otago this weekend…. at the Market!  And I’ll see you there!

This Week in the kitchen

It's getting that time of year when the salad tongs are whipped out of the cutlery draw, so we thought we'd fossick up some great salad recipes. One is healthy, one is warm and one is a little bit more indulgent... Whisk yourself up a storm with all the produce available from our amazing vendors.

Love this time of year!  Some things just go together- asparagus, parmesan, and our Lemon Olive Oil.  See me on the platform Saturday for some other suggestions for our Lemon Oil.

Did you know?

Both Lemon Juice and Olive Oil have detoxifying properties that purify the body.  The combination of these two ingredients promotes and facilitates the elimination of toxins, enhances the functioning of the liver and gallbladder and creates a barrier that protects against cell damage caused by free radicals.  Sandy
