This Week at the Farmers Market

14th August 2021

Hi there

Unknown Artist .jpeg (2)

August is galloping away at a great pace!  I’ve just heard from Mick & Sue from Terracotta Plants that things are starting to pop up in the garden, so they will be back this weekend up in the usual place on the platform, spring is definitely on its way.

Shop your way around Otago this weekend…. at the Market!

Please remember to scan in at the cones at any of the entrances, see you Saturday.

Ngā mihi

This Week in the kitchen

When I asked Michele what sort of recipes I should look up this week, I thought she was either calling me a rude name, or was about to sneeze, when she quickly responded 'Tarte Tatin'... Luckily I remembered this delicious dish, and I found two in the archives, one savoury and one sweet, using all the amazing produce available from our vendors at the Market! Kristina

Thanks again to all the wonderful people who give me their jars and bottles to recycle.

At the market this week, we have freshly made raspberry jam and marmalade to inspire you to get up on these cold mornings, and add to hot buttered toast.

There’s also Perri Perri sauce, a tomato, chilli-based sauce to add to curry and roast vegetables or meat $12 bottle.

Dukkah is also a way of making eggs or roast vegetables more exciting, or just dipping in olive oil and bread to have with a pre-dinner drink. $5 for two scoops.

Happy Farmers Market shopping!
