Hi there
Santa Claus is coming to town! Or so someone in my house believes anyway! Certainly the town is pumping with festive fervour, graduations and cruise boat patrons. Loving it.
The market is a veritable oasis awash with flowers, berries, cherries, stone fruit and new season’s vegetables. Check out the photo of one happy shopper’s haul from last weekend. Pssssst The Big Fat Cherry Co will be at the market on Saturday.
Cadburys carpark will not be available to us on 23rd December. They are having a big staff party the night before and the carpark will be used for packing out kit on Saturday. Fortunately we aren’t short of car parking around the market. The St Andrews St carpark over the railway lines is a huge space if you haven’t checked it out all ready.
Many of you didn’t receive the newsletter last week. For this we apologise. We are settling in the new technology and, fingers crossed, hopeful that this week there will be no gremlins in the system.
See you Saturday
Kate

Here’s a piece of antiquity, in the museum of Spain’s equivalent to Crop & Food- Olive division! This is a horse drawn crusher, the first step in oil olive extraction. There’s three of these conical stones coming in at 1.4 tonnes each, maybe there were 2 horses!

Produce Bags

Remember to pick up your recycled net curtain produce bags from the site office. At this time of year with so many tasty fruit at the market there are too many reasons not to have some. We are asking for $2 for these so that we can continue to make more.
Also please remember to drop off your clean, undamaged super market bags to the site office. We re-cycle these throughout the market.
