Hurrah to another week at the market

14th June 2018

Hi there

Oh la la next weekend the All Blacks play France here in Dunedin and oh mon dieu the market is going to be tres magnifique.

For all you Francophiles out there Enterprise Dunedin will be hosting MoreFM radio doing crazy “french" things like flipping crepes, Alliance Francais will have some French games, there will be French food tastings and recipes in the market kitchen, berets and moustaches galore on the vendors and much more.

Naturally enough there will be a fair swag of All Black supporters present as well.

See you Saturday

This Week in the kitchen

Kate is in the kitchen this week showing how this time of year your seasonal fruit becomes more about exploring varieties rather than wildly different types.

Taylors Gold Pears take the stage, being crafted into Hazelnut Praline Roasted Pears showing how preparation and variety can change the flavours and texture of a dish.

Road Works outside the market

From 18th June Fulton Hogan will be working on Anzac Ave outside the Farmers Market site on the planned cycle-way and pedestrian improvements.

This work will take 3-4 months.

There will be no planned disruption of the Market on Saturday however, parks outside the market on Anzac Avenue will be unavailable while the work persists.

Thank you for your patience over  this time. The end result will be much more pedestrian and cycle friendly.

Ravensbourne Volunteer Fire Brigade

Recently the Brigade purchased a new support vehicle after three years of fundraising efforts by our members, grants and donations from the community.

now they need to kit it out so, they will be at the market this week with a firewood raffle to raise funds to assist with costs in purchasing  and kitting this vehicle out with appropriate equipment.

So while you are at the market this week keep an eye out for them and share the love.
