Hi there
The storm over Easter and beyond certainly brought home the realisation that the seasons are
changing. Snow down to low levels has had us all hankering for comfort, hearty food and the two
recipes below certainly fit the bill.
I received this beautiful box of Evansdale cheeses this morning. Oh my what a treasure trove, I’m
conjuring up waldorf salad ideas with the Bay Blue and various other, slightly decadent treats with
the others. Mmmmmmm
As I am writing this I am listening to Prime Minister Ardern update the nation on the alert levels
going forward and what we can expect when we move to level 3 next week. What this means for the
farmers market and our vendors is still unclear but we may see more of our vendors move into
offering online items such as ready to eat food and added value items. We will keep you appraised
of any changes via this newsletter and social media platforms.
In the meantime stay safe, look after each other, support your local community and think about
starting a garden if you don’t currently have one. Autumn is a great time to gather up leaves and
begin building lasagne style compost piles.
We’ve got his, peeps … keep abiding by the rules and we will be at alert level 2 in no time and at that
time, I think, we will see the farmers market resume semi-normal operations. And won’t that be the
most wonderful thing!!! In the meantime please support our vendors who are able to offer online
ordering and to the door delivery services.
Take care
Kate
