Hi there
Bliss, joy it’s stone fruit season! The fruit has been slow to ripen with the un-seasonal weather but this week of sunshine will have made all the difference. Where else in the country do you get such superb, tree ripened bursts of sunshine? I have to admit to feeling a tiny bit smug knowing that the apricots we have at our market are the best in the country!
Many of you will be thinking about the start of the school year. It is a busy time for families with young children as holidays end and the reality of another hectic year looms. Healthy snacks and meals make such a difference to staying on top of things. Why not bring the whole family down to the market and get the kids to choose their favourite yummy, ripe and juicy healthy snack to get things started on the right track.
This week will see a very full market with virtually every single vendor back from holidays. It is the last week for The Big Fat Cherry Co so if you need some of their big fat cherries then don’t delay!
Some of you may be interested in helping us out on an occasional Saturday morning. From 10am – noon we require a volunteer to staff the market hub and deal with customer enquiries and sell merchandise. This is a pleasant role that mostly the Trustees fill but from time to time we have a few gaps. We are also on the lookout for waste volunteers / waste warriors from 8 - 10am to help keep market waste minimisation strategy's operating correctly with market goers. If you are interested and would like to know more then email me here.
See you Saturday
Kate
