This Week at your 'Virtual' Farmers Market

21st August 2021

Hi there

We have been here before & we all know what to do. The physical Market will be CLOSED until further notice as we can only operate safely at L2 or L1 (as much as we would love to keep our community well fed with fresh, healthy fruit, vegies & other grocery staples, we can't be at the Market this weekend).  So unfortunate, as we were expecting a bumper weekend with graduations.  Thoughts are with all who were to be graduating, visiting, etc this week.  But hopefully by going hard & fast we can manage this & get back to where we were - which was remarkably normal for so long.

We have many vendors who can provide contactless deliveries, some are in the newsletter below & I will keep adding them to our Facebook page & you can always find your favourite vendors on our website www.otagofarmersmarket.org.nz for their contact details if you want to get in touch.

From us all here at the Market please look after yourselves & each other & we'll see you on the other side soon hopefully.

Shop your way around Otago this weekend…. at the Virtual Market!

Ngā mihi

This Week in the kitchen

We dove into the archives for some nice, easy recipes for you to whip up at home. Given the scarcity on shelves, there's no preciously fought over flour in the cake. Both recipes were chosen as they lend themselves to being pretty forgiving if you don’t have an ingredient, so you'll be able to swap it out for something you might have on hand! Take care, stay safe, warm and well fed. Kristina

The Pisa range bathed in morning light can't help but lift the spirit!

Hopefully we'll see you on Saturday, but if not, we'll cover the freight on orders over $100, hop online at https://dunfordgrove.com/

New season for us next month and new pricing.  This is our seventh season and the first time we've reviewed our costs; we've worked hard to keep our inputs down but now we have to raise some prices from September.

Did you know?

Doing my homework for this I bumped into an older article on Olive Oil by Consumer NZ, interestingly 4 of the oils failed their chemical or sensory testing and most of these were in clear glass!  Remember Extra Virgin Olive Oil degrades in light- never buy your oil in clear glass or from the top shelf of the store!

Egg Deliveries - Agreeable Nature

If customers who would like to support us through this tough time could they please email us on info@agreeablenature.co.nz and we will place their eggs at a location close to them for them to collect.

Unfortunately we can not go direct to everyone's door, if you want to be a collection spot please let me know and we will deliver trays only please (unless by special arrangement)  $20/tray.

No.8 Distillery

no 8.jpg

Our absinthe does work as hand sanitiser, but it’d be a shame not to drink it…  Under level 4 you can still order online with free delivery in Central Dunedin (contactless) and around NZ by courier.  Visit https://www.no8distillery.com/ to order our gins and absinthe. We’ll also have some new batches of liqueurs coming this weekend.  Meanwhile, stay safe and don’t drink hand sanitiser!!
