Hi there
I predicted it here! Terracotta Plants are back this week and I am pretty positive that they will have an assortment of gorgeous flowering bulbs that simply scream Spring! Go welcome them back and check out those plucky yet delicate blooms.
Plastic free July is coming to an end but our push to exterminate single use bags, containers and cups goes on. Compile your good selves with a “market kit” so that you are prepared every Saturday as you walk out the door. We have a “kit” showcased in the photo, show us yours on Saturday and we’ll donate a produce bag to your mix.
I am off to Auckland and Whangarei next week to visit farmers markets up that way. Sharyn, the new chair of the Trust is coming with me and we are packing in 7 markets in two days. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it J. Of course part from eating and drinking very well we will be on the scout out for ideas that we can bring back to our market, Clevedon Market I believe is zero waste, something we aspire to but have more work to do to achieve. Our bags will be full of citrus, avocadoes and other northern produce for the trip home.
Spelt Bakery started last week and were very well received. Their stall looks great and the products freshly baked. My bread was still warm out of the oven!
Proud new dad, Matt from the Tart Tin will be back too.
The road works continue (all around the city centre as it happens) so take care getting in and out of the market.
See you Saturday
Kate
