This Week at your Virtual Farmers Market

2nd September 2021

Hi there

Well, we have made it to spring meteorologically speaking & week 3 of lockdown!  Hope you are doing ok.  At least now in L3 there are a few more options to shop & eat & support local safely.  At last count this morning we have around 28+ vendors that can operate in some capacity either by click & collect or contactless delivery.  Locavore Boxes have been adding some of our vendors produce in their delivery boxes once a week also. Or it might be you want to send a care package to friends up the line like I did this week or enjoy one of the great array of products & produce for yourself.  And its Father’s Day this Sunday, there are plenty of brunch goodies that can still be brought online.

Have a read below & keep an eye out on our Facebook Page & Instagram Stories for updates & you can always find your favourite vendors details on our website

The physical market WON’T be open this weekend; but you can still Shop your way around Otago this weekend…. at your Virtual Market!

Take care, stay safe in your bubbles & when out and about supporting locally.

This Week in the kitchen

I dove into that amazing recipe archive again, looking for some spring/lockdown/Fathers’ Day easy make yummies.  I’m a big fan of pumpkin as a sweet treat, so if you are a bit over soups or roasts, why not try this slice instead? And there’s nothing quite like a Sunday morning cheese scone to be quite frank with you…  Kristina

Dropped some orders to the courier mid-morning Wednesday, and couldn’t help sharing the view toward Northlake.

Do you ever wonder why so many of the TV One weather photos feature the lower South Island?  We don’t!

Hop online for you oil and nuts, all orders over $100 still are freight free.

Did you know?

“Kiss your partner every morning and you’ll live longer”, can’t remember where I read it, but it sounds good to me!

Mind you, we’re both not giving up on the Mediterranean diet, delicious insurance!

Hazelnut Estate

Catlins True Brew & Kitchen - A Poem from Toby

My favourite place in the Catlins - Koropuko Falls

A painstakingly perfectly placed punga pathway snakes slowly and surely through a fern festooned forest floor

A sun dappled glade, bathed and swathed with glorious greens in every possible shade opening a splendiforous door

To a hidden hollow where fairies frolic through this natural tonic, raucously rumbling, fumbling through moss tumbling dreams

Rambling, ambling and scrambling over rugged roots, a rock strewn rug, past every hook in the babbling brook where all is not as it seems

The cacophony of the cascading crescendo sneakily suggests there could be more on this tantalising tour but what could it possibly be

Then through the bush it boisterously bursts in sensational spurts a wondrous waterfall that as it spills quite literally fills me with glee

It would be me thinks a total travesty not to marvel at the mystical, magical, mythical majesty of this tree lined tapestry

I close my eyes and I can see you, feel you but I love you and miss you so...but you already know you are my special place beloved Koropuko..."
