Hi there
Another short week rolls around. Thank you for your patience as one or two of our popular vendors last week isolated and we negotiate our way safely through the ebb & flow of Covid interruptions over the last couple of months. But, aren’t we lucky to have all the ‘best of the best of Otago’ in fresh produce & products available in one big iconic great outdoors location each week!
Now is the time when some of our seasonal growers naturally drop away from the Market as crops reduce over the colder months. Esther from The Company of Flowers will now be back in spring along with Viv & Chris from Kakanui Produce. I’m sure that will come around fast if this year is anything to go by! And stock up the freezer this weekend if you are fan of Run Rabbit fresh pasta (as they are heading off to Europe for a holiday, which seems so foreign these days haha!), it does indeed freeze well & a little goes a long way mixed with Market vegies I find & it's blimmin delicious.
For those of you who are stuck at home we have a few vendors that can deliver to your door during the week, Brightside Microgreens, Gilberts Fine Foods, Ettrick Gardens, Waewae, Ronia & Pippi, Agreeable Nature Eggs, Blue Mountain Butchery, Tartan Sari, Dunford Grove, Evansdale Cheese, Oamaru Organics, Harbour Fish, Havoc Pork, Blueskin Bay Honey, Wild Dispensary, Judge Rock Wines, Hazelnut Estate, Matheson & Roberts, Whitestone Cheese, Breads & More, Dunedin Craft Distillery, Princes St Butchery & others. All their contact details you can find on our website www.otagofarmersmarket.org.nz under vendors.
Once again we have lots of brunch options to dine in again outside & some of our vendors have samples for you to try before you buy.
Vote for your favourite farmers market & vendor below if you haven’t already to go into the nationwide drawer to find the best in NZ! Last few days to vote.
Bring CASH as some of our vendors are cash only.
Remember your keep cup, return jars & containers to keep the ReUse cycle loop working & bags for vegies & fruit. Most vendors are more than happy to fill your containers.
We encourage mask use & respecting everyone’s space within the Market while we still have high cases in the region.
Shop your way around Otago this weekend…. at the Market! And please respect everyone’s space. Take care of each other & thanks for supporting our vendors. Happy short week!

This Week in the kitchen
This week in the office.... today, I learnt what a quince is - thanks Michele! I decided to do my own research on the matter and have been looking for some quince themed recipes. I look forward to seeing you all at the market and hopefully everyone gets the chance to pick up a couple of quince! See you all on Saturday. Isabella (Assistant Manager)

We have hazelnut & feta ravioli, beetroot fettuccine, gnocchi, octopus legs and bumble bees and more! Fresh pasta freezes well and can be cooked straight from frozen, no need to thaw first. Loads of carrots, pakchoi, beetroot and coriander again, and the zucchini are hanging in there... frosts are yet to arrive. Also, more watermelon radish which some of you have already discovered... crisp as it gets, a mild salad radish that brightens a plate.
