Winter is Coming!

30th May 2019

Hi there

Trays of treats.jpg

Chilly, rainy weather will be settling in a bit on Saturday, so make sure you layer up and bring your keep cups for some hot beverages at the market! Our vendors are celebrating the first day of winter with cool weather produce, fresh dairy, hot baked breads, and as always, loads of delicious and warm ready to eat options.  It really has been a blessing to enjoy these last several weekends of gorgeous weather, but seasons change, as they should, and the coming months will bring crisp air and cool weather treasures at the market.

See you Saturday!

~Kara

This Week in the kitchen

Our market chefs are a wealth of culinary tips and ideas, so if you are searching for some fresh inspiration, come have a chat with Kate and pick up some of her recipes!

If you are looking for even more fodder for your kitchen adventures, look no further than our website. We have something for everyone!

Gilbert's Find Food

Bread is good.jpg

We’re really pleased to announce that we have extended our range of baked goods to include our pies and sausage rolls.

The current range includes some of our favourites – beef cheek, Te Mata mince and lamb. Over the next few weeks we’ll expand to include some others such as bacon and egg, salmon and vegetarian so keep an eye out for those.

We’re selling the pies as individual, served hot, but for those of you looking for a Sunday snack we will also have them available chilled for you to reheat yourself.

We will of course continue to have our usual range of breads (including numerous sourdoughs), pastries and gluten free goods.

Wild Dispensary

Hot tonic.jpg

Wild Dispensary Hot tonics.

Did you know that our restorative tonic range make wonderful hot herbal tonics?

Come and see us with your ‘Keep Cup’, or borrow one from the markets mug library for a hot tonic for only $5. Perfect for warming your hands on the mornings that are getting colder as well as getting some herbs into your system for your wellbeing!

Ruth’s favourite at the moment is the Anti-Flam with a touch of the Firecider. Soothing, warming and great for  immunity. Our regular, Nicola, always mixes up and combines her favourites for the ultimate hot tonic!
