Hi there
Some of you may have noticed a new stall up on the platform selling healthy-as baby food. This new business is the brain child of Skye Macfarlane, local naturopath and herbalist and mother to Fred. Fred Fred came out of a desire to feed her son proper, nutrient dense food with no fillers or added sugar – real food that tastes delicious for even the fussiest eater and is sure to help develop a wider palate for our little ones as they grow older. Skye and her partner Jed, own Vern Paddock Project, a BioGrow certified organic farm in Mihiwaka. Many of her ingredients come from the farm , all others are sourced from certified organic growers. Be sure to check out the stall and have a chat with Skye. She is a mine of information about a wide range of topics concerning health and well-being. Skye also collaborates with another of our vendors, Wild Dispensary to help create their wonderful health giving tonics.
It is that time of year again where the Outstanding Farmers Market awards are happening. We would love to win for the third time but need you to vote for us. You have until the end of March but why wait, do it now and ask all your family members to do it as well. Everyone with an email address is eligible to vote. Click the link below to go right to it.

We have been munching through a ton of organic celery this week in the office, so good! Also new season apples and pears are beginning to appear at the market. Crispy, crunchy, juicy deliciousness! All the produce flooding in makes it feel OK that we are now into autumn. Corn, pumpkin, plums, peppers, chillis, the list goes on. Unfortunately we will not see any more figs at the market until the second flush ripens probably towards the end of the month. Fairfield blueberries are finished for the season we believe.
See you Saturday.

Not ready for this! Mid thirties in the afternoons last week but I guess it is Autumn.
Did you know?
Table olives have similar levels of polyphenols as Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 10-16 olives a day will give you the polyphenols you need for heart health.
