Hi there
Happy new year, I hope you all had a bit of a break from routine & we look forward to seeing you back at the first Market of the year on Saturday if you happen to be in town. If you are still away, then hopefully you can get along to the local farmers market wherever you are to try the local produce. And to our out of town visitors, welcome! I enjoyed dining out on our cherries, peaches, apples & all the rest of my Market bounty in Naseby for a few days away in between new year & I think the flavour of Central Otago makes holidays taste all the more sweeter along with that sunshine & warmth - plain delicious!
Am looking forward to restocking this weekend. More of our vendors will be back this week after a quick break & refresh so the Market should be starting to look a bit back to normal. Waitaki Orchard are back finally for the season with apricots after the first lot got wrecked by the rain. Juiced Up will be juicing fresh Market fruit, Dunedin Distillery have brewed fresh gin, there will be plenty of ready to eat brunch options & coffee - how about having a picnic in garden outside our iconic Railway Building? There is something for everyone (although meat options are pretty lean this week as most butcheries have been shut).
Remember too, that only all our authenticated, verified Otago Farmers Market vendors are all within our gates, who have our tick of approval. Make sure you support them inside the Market carpark & platform & you will get a quality product.
Remember to bring CASH as some of our vendors are cash only. Mask up, scan in, respect everyone's 1mt distancing & only handle what you intend to buy.
And a reminder that food & beverages are to be taken OUT of the Market to be consumed, as masks should be kept ON at all times.
Remember your keep cup, refill jars & takeaway containers this summer!
Shop your way around Otago this weekend…. at the Market!
Ngā mihi & I look forward to seeing you. And happy holidays hopefully!
